Update 1/25/24: People are now reporting accounts in threads to Mojang, and telling them to check the IP history for proof that accounts are being sold. In return, Mojang is now banning accounts that are being sold for fraud/selling. PLEASE censor account names in your threads so your shit doesn't get locked.
Hey everyone, it's hate. Many of you have probably seen me on the forum. This thread is mainly for the newer people getting into MC com. Hope you enjoy!
First, we should start with some common terms:
OGI: Original Info, such as account name holder and other info.
OGE: Original Email, usually the email the account was created on.
TID: Transaction ID, you receive it when you buy your copy of MC.
OGO: Original Owner, or the only person to ever use that account.
Invalid: An invalid name is a name that bypasses the name filter, @uu has a great guide on this. Click Here!
This next segment will be on how to secure an account. This is so the previous owner won't be able to take the account back. This guide was written by @Campton on the "other forum", so I will just be reposting this here:
1. Once you have obtained the details from the seller go to outlook.com and sign in. You may be asked for a code from a recovery email or phone number therefore read the instructions the screen tells you to do and then ask the seller to give you a code.
2. Once you are into the Microsoft go to the top right of your screen where the profile picture is and click on "my Microsoft account"
3. If you look at the top where the blue background is, you will see something which says "Microsoft account" Click on that and then look at the devices section. If the user has devices that are added to the microsoft, make sure you remove them! To remove the device, you need to click on "View Details" and then towards the right hand side there should be an option to remove it! Once removed make sure you go out of that page by clicking on another security for example Privacy and then go back into it to see if the device is 100% removed!
4. At the top you should see Security - Click on Security and then Advanced Security. Another code may be needed by the seller at this point.
5. Once you are in security click on "Add a new way to sign in or verify." This is in blue with the + next to it. Then add whatever security methods you would want to add. I recommend having at least 2 emails and using the Microsoft authenticator app. Whilst securing the account make sure you regularly look at https://account.live.com/Activity to see if the seller is trying to generate a new recovery code or trying to change password etc.
6. Once your security methods are added, remove the sellers security methods by clicking on them and "remove"
7. Turn on 2FA to ensure that no one is able to access the account
8. Scroll down to the bottom of the security tab and click on "generate a new code" you should SAVE this code in the same file as your account details as if you somehow lose access, you are able to reobtain access using this code. Just above this section it should say "sign out" make sure you sign out of all devices which will mean the seller has no way of accessing the account!
9. Change the Microsoft password. The Microsoft password is the same as your Minecraft password so when this changes your Minecraft password also changes
10. Click on "Your Info" at the top left of your screen. Then change the details on the account for example the Full Name and the Profile Info. This makes it harder for the seller to unrightfully obtain this account back.
11. On the "Your Info" Page, you will see a section which says account info. In this section click on "sign in preferences" then click on add a new email and then you can either add an existing email you have or use the top option where you create a new email. Once you have done that click on "add alias"
12. Make your new email the primary alias - it will say "make primary" on the right of the email and then remove any additional emails and phone numbers on this screen.
13. Ask the seller to screen share them going onto outlook.com. Make sure they are logged out of the email. Then also get the seller to screen share them going into minecraft.net and the minecraft launcher making sure they do not have an active session. You can also check lunar client and badlion client if you wish.
14. Make sure the exploit is not on your account. To do this you got to https://zyger.net/middleman/exploit/ and copy and paste your email into this. If it says the exploit is on your account you should message zyger asking him to remove the exploit as he can do this very easily. Also tell the seller to go to the bottom left windows key and type in email and accounts. Make sure that the old and new account email are not on this. If they are tell them to click on the email and then click on remove. If there are any issues with this Zyger can resolve them.
15. Last but most importantly, make sure you got what you paid for! Make sure you check on minecraft.net to see if the ign is right to see if you got the cape you might of been expecting and also make sure to check on servers to see if there are any ranks/bans that the seller may not have stated. Enjoy your account!
Anyway, this is just a basic guide to minecraft accounts for those who are new to com. See you around!
