I feel that adding back dislikes will allow users to express their opinion (as they can with likes) without needing to create an entire discussion on the topic.
This is also a feature that would allow the site to stand out against sites that only offer a like feature.
Would also allow a user's total likes to be a more viable statistic to determine their overall quality, especially if a user's total likes decreased for every dislike.
Not sure exactly how you'd implement this. Below a post, there is a list of users that have liked the post. A possible method of implementation would be creating a separate list below the "liked by" list, which displays the "disliked by" users. There's prolly a better way, but that's just all I could think of right now.
Open to all criticism of my idea, very interested to see if you can build upon it.
