I don’t think learning how to code will ever be impractical because of how technology is advancing continuously. With AI evolving there’s also the increase of demand in jobs around that industry so you’ll never have to be afraid of thinking it’ll all go to waste.

I’m ngl you can look at how AI is starting to be practiced in law and how that’s starting to spark up the fear of AI replacing actual lawyers with computers instead.

In our lifetime, if you haven't already gotten multiple jobs as a software engineer, you are better off focusing on hardware and skillsets that help those already experienced with Machine Learning Models and programming those which create the tools that will replace the job of a software engineer. Become an electrician, get into HVAC, you don't want to sit in an office being on-call sleeping 3 rem cycles a night to make a measly 6 figures a year and live 40 hours a week, unless you truly enjoy coding, it is not the career ladder to climb. You're better off selling drugs.

TLDR; Knowing how to code will alway be useful, but I personally would use it recreationally rather than professionally. It's synonmous to knowing english.

No its just cope, people say that when they want an excuse to be lazy. Same crowd that said truck drivers would be replaced by self driving cars any second now for 10 years and counting. Simple things like webpages sure but it won't replace actual knowledge

Lol, yeah the guy that got sued because it started spitting out cases that didn't even exist. Very useful, lawyers are done for!

Hey @666 I'm ngl this is some pretty wild shit & to learn in this article that ChatGPT is being used by a lawyer to just get jebaited by the AI can be scary. I understand how technology can be useful & save heaps of time in the office if used properly but it was his full responsibility. He completely relied on ChatGPT without double checking any mistakes that could have resulted from the AI's end to just ruin his reputation as a lawyer.
