This is a guide on how to secure a Minecraft account. Before any transaction, it is essential to confirm the identity of the seller to ensure that you are not being impersonated. Reach out to the seller on the platform and confirm their identity by asking them to verify their discord ID and providing yours for them to confirm.
- First, go to Outlook.com and sign in. If prompted, enter the recovery code provided by the seller.
- Once you are logged in, navigate to the top right of the screen and click on "My Microsoft account".
- In the "Microsoft account" section, check the "devices" section and make sure to remove any devices that were added by the seller. To do this, click on "View Details" and then select "Remove" on the right-hand side.
- Navigate to the "Security" section and click on "Advanced Security". You may be prompted to enter another code from the seller.
- In the "Advanced Security" section, click on "Add a new way to sign in or verify" and add any desired security methods, such as additional emails or the Microsoft Authenticator app. Regularly check https://account.live.com/Activity to check for any suspicious activity.
- Remove the seller's security methods by clicking on them and selecting "Remove".
- Turn on 2FA to ensure that no one else can access the account.
- Scroll to the bottom of the security tab and click on "Generate a new code". Save this code in a safe place, as it will be needed to regain access to the account if necessary. Sign out of all devices to ensure that the seller can no longer access the account.
- Change the Microsoft password. This will also change the password for any linked accounts, such as Minecraft.
- Click on "Your Info" at the top left of the screen and change the account details, such as the full name and profile information.
- In the "Account Info" section, click on "Sign in preferences" and add a new email or phone number. Make the new email or phone number the primary alias and remove any additional emails or phone numbers.
- Ask the seller to share their screen while they log out of Outlook.com and Minecraft.net and the Minecraft launcher. You can also check Lunar client and Badlion client if you wish.
- Lastly, make sure you received what you paid for by checking the ign, cape, ranks, and bans on servers.
It is important to note that no guide can guarantee complete security and scammers are constantly finding new ways to access accounts. Therefore, it is recommended to buy from reputable users and use a middleman.
