Hello all,
I've seen a lot of reports coming in lately for "invalid reputation". Many of these reports are invalid, as they do not break the site rules. Please refer back to this thread to confirm whether or not a reputation you've been given is valid or not.
Examples of INVALID (reputation points that will be deleted if reported) reputation:
Examples of VALID (reputation points that will not be deleted) reputation:
Again, there are other instances where reputation points will be deemed as valid, but these are the three categories that will be used the most.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion there was circulating about the reputation system.
Thanks
I've seen a lot of reports coming in lately for "invalid reputation". Many of these reports are invalid, as they do not break the site rules. Please refer back to this thread to confirm whether or not a reputation you've been given is valid or not.
Examples of INVALID (reputation points that will be deleted if reported) reputation:
- Calling someone a scammer without a link to an open or valid deal dispute.
- Racist, sexist, or otherwise derogatory remarks (unlikely to be removed in most instances. If deemed bad enough it will be deleted). Comments such as "retard' will NOT be removed. Negative reputation is solely opinion based.
- Gang neg reputation (encouraging other members to leave negative reputation on a user - in some instances with financial incentives).
- Reputation farming - spamming reputation on users you've not dealt with, typically with comments such as "cool guy" or "road to 100 rep".
Examples of VALID (reputation points that will not be deleted) reputation:
- After a deal has been completed (good experiences can reward a positive reputation, and vice versa for negative points).
- Reputation left on your friends/associates.
- After a positive experience with another user on/offsite (having gotten/given help from/to them).
Again, there are other instances where reputation points will be deemed as valid, but these are the three categories that will be used the most.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion there was circulating about the reputation system.
Thanks
