Basically people offering coding services can take a test to get a special badge on their thread stating "I actually know what I am doing and will give you a good product." Test can cost like $10 per attempt and money can be funneled into site improvement. Just a random suggestion that got declined on OGU that I think would work well here.

Good idea in theory, but verifying each person that applies would take up a lot of bandwidth from the staff team

Everyone in coding specializes in something different, I think that it would be too hard to push everyone onto 1 test in the same language when not everyone does the same thing

I don't know how this would logistically work. On principle it's a good idea to have high-quality work highlighted, but in reality it's just too hard to judge.

Not only do we, as an Admin/Staff team, not have the authority to judge the code properly, but also it'd just be so easily faked with skidded code.
