Personally I'd say cardio for the sheer reason that the procees targets multiple parts of the body at once while the pain is continuous. But tell me what you think.

it depends, really. if you’re more into strength, lifting feels natural and cardio sucks but if you’re used to running or sports, lifting can hit different and yeah both have their own kind of pain, just depends what you’re used to and what your goals are :D
