HOMER

What happened
Reports this week, first out of a Chinese-language tech outlet and since picked up by larger crypto press, say Binance co-founders Changpeng Zhao and Yi He went by the internal nicknames Homer and Marge in company meetings and chats. Screenshots showing Yi He under the Marge name were shared with reporters, and a person close to CZ confirmed his use of Homer. The explanation given is simple: the Simpsons are yellow, and so is Binance. Yi He, now co-CEO alongside Richard Teng, reportedly still uses it.

The token
$HOMER on BNB Chain exists purely because of that story. Its pool is two days old, roughly matching the first reports, and its own X bio calls it a Springfield degen on BSC with the contract address attached. There is no claim of affiliation with CZ, Yi He or Binance, and I have seen nothing from either of them acknowledging it.

The numbers
Up 546% over 24h on $3.53m volume, market cap around $315k, liquidity about $29.5k, roughly 1,900 holders. Trades split 16,663 buys to 12,987 sells — people are getting out as well as in, which is the healthier shape for something this new.

Worth remembering the BNB meme cycle last October, when CZ said his posts were not endorsements and a lot of tokens gave back 60-95% within a day. This is a headline-derived joke coin with two days of history, and it can unwind just as fast as it ran.

Is a nickname leak enough of a narrative to survive the week?
