Basically, what you'll want to do is find shoes or furniture, eletronics in the dumpster that is in rather poor condition but not too poor that you can fix it up yourself. Can be anything like a night stand, lamp, tv, tire rims, etc.
If you don't what to really look for, just lookup dumpster sites near you or go onto https://offerup.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/marketplace and go to the "Free" section, maybe you'll find some interesting stuff that they don't want anymore and you can just take that fix it up and boom easy money.
For me, I usually look for nightstands, drawers, Dressers, etc. that are in poor condition, then I purchase paint some wood repair kit, some filler sticks, etc. to fix it up like new and I usually make $100-300 per furniture.
On the electronics side, I make a bit less since the things I get for free aren't usually the high end stuff. Some tvs will have simple issues like not turning on and it almost always is the cable itself isn't working properly then I get a sweet deal and fix it up instantly just by replacing cable.
Thats it really go out there and explore stuff :) Money making ways are everywhere, you just need creativity.
