I found this plugin that can be useful for giveaway:

It would be great if you can install a plugin that picks a winner automatically to avoid other giveaway tools

This plugin for example costs 24 euros and seems to be doing the job perfectly well, it is also from a trusted source and up to https://community.mybb.com/thread-228854.html

It includes automatic private messaging to alert the user who won the contest. Another additional action is the automatically locking of the thread after selecting a winner for the giveaway.

Cool idea

What's preferred - having a button that the OP/host clicks that selects the winner & locks the thread at their convenience (while still requiring an end date to be included in the post), or do it all automatically by forcing an end date to be set when thread is being created (can't be modified once created)?
The second one is good as long as you can choose one or more winners in case some people are hosting with multiple winners such as a 5 upgrades giveaway etc. Just my preference though, not sure what other people think.
