Another Trump-branded token, another rug. $GOLD launched and within hours had lost 98% of its value, according to on-chain data showing 15 wallets tied to the team offloading roughly $330,000 worth of tokens into the launch liquidity.

The pattern is the usual one for these named-after-a-headline tokens: fast launch, aggressive early volume from wallets that look coordinated, then a synchronized exit once enough outside buyers are in. Trading data shows the sell wave hit shortly after the token started drawing attention, wiping out most of the buyers who came in after the initial pump.

There's no indication Donald Trump or any entity actually connected to him had anything to do with this token. It's another case of a project borrowing a recognizable name to attract buyers, with nothing tying the branding to the person named.

Worth remembering this isn't an isolated incident. Every few months a new Trump-themed or Trump-adjacent token launches, gets a burst of speculative volume, and then a chunk of insider wallets cash out while the chart collapses. $GOLD looks like it's following that exact script, just compressed into a matter of hours instead of days.

Anyone else tracking how many of these Trump-named tokens have gone through the same cycle this year? Feels like the timeline between launch and rug keeps getting shorter.

$GOLD extends to 99% total loss as connected wallets confirmed dumping $1M before promo

Update on the GOLD token thread from earlier, where we covered wallets tied to the launch dumping around $330k. The picture is now much worse.

On-chain analyst EmberCN has laid out the full sequence. Wallets controlling 82.45% of the entire $GOLD supply, 824.54 million tokens, sold everything for roughly 9,784 $SOL, worth about $1.01 million. That's on top of what was already reported, and it accounts for basically the whole insider position.

Timeline: token launched on Solana at 7:38am. An account called @realtrumpcoins1, tied to a Trump merchandise collaboration, posted the contract address around 9am and trading took off, pushing the market cap to a $66 million peak. At 11:48am the promo post was deleted, and at the exact same moment the connected wallet cluster started selling. Market cap went from $55 million to $1 million in about 30 seconds. Selling continued until roughly 2pm, by which point the cluster had cashed out the full 824.54 million tokens. Market cap now sits around $700,000, down almost 99% from peak.

Worth repeating: nobody has identified who controls those wallets or the X account, and there's no statement from Trump, his family, or the Trump Organization connecting them to this token. TrumpStore.com, described as the organization's official retail site, has not listed GOLD as an authorized asset. This is also a separate token from the official TRUMP memecoin launched last year.

Same shape as the BARRON token dump in January 2025 and the CWU token case in May, both involving concentrated wallets exploiting brand-adjacent promotion.

Anyone tracking where that $1M in SOL moved next?

GOLD wallets confirmed to have dumped 82% of supply for $1M around Trump-linked post

Update on the $GOLD crash we covered earlier. On-chain analyst EmberCN has now laid out the full sequence, and it confirms the wallet dump was tied directly to the Trump-linked promotion.

According to EmberCN, wallets controlling 824.54 million $GOLD tokens, 82.45% of total supply, had already sold their position two hours before an X account called @realtrumpcoins1 posted the token's contract address. That account is associated with a Trump merchandise collaboration, though nothing ties it officially to the Trump Organization or to Trump himself, and TrumpStore.com does not list $GOLD anywhere.

Timeline: token launched on Solana at 7:38am. Contract address posted around 9am, triggering a rush of buying that pushed market cap to a $66 million peak. At 11:48am the promotional post was deleted, and at that exact moment the connected wallets began dumping. Market cap fell from roughly $55 million to $1 million in about 30 seconds. Selling continued until around 2pm, by which point the cluster had converted its full position into 9,784.6 SOL, worth about $1.01 million at the time.

By the time EmberCN published, $GOLD's market cap had dropped to around $700,000, a 99% decline from peak. A separate report from Lookonchain identified 15 wallets it linked to the team, some of which bought in before the promo post went up. No regulator or law enforcement agency has named who controls these wallets or the X account.

EmberCN calls the pattern textbook: concentrated supply, a promotional push to attract buyers, then a coordinated exit once volume arrives. Does this look different from the earlier draft of the story, or just more evidence for the same read?

$GOLD token now down 99% after wallets behind $1M dump identified

Update on the $GOLD situation we covered earlier when it had crashed 98% off a $330k dump. It's worse now.

On-chain analyst EmberCN dug into the wallets behind the token and found the picture is uglier than first reported. A cluster of addresses controlling 824.54 million $GOLD tokens, which works out to 82.45% of the entire supply, had already sold off two hours before the Trump-linked promo post even went up. Those wallets cashed out for 9,784.6 SOL, worth roughly $1.01 million at the time.

The sequence: $GOLD launched on Solana at 7:38am. Around 9am an account tied to Trump merchandise, @realtrumpcoins1, posted the contract address, and buyers piled in, pushing the market cap to a $66 million peak. At 11:48am the promo post got deleted, and at the exact same moment the connected wallet cluster started dumping. Market cap went from about $55 million to $1 million in roughly 30 seconds. By the time EmberCN published, the token sat around $700,000 in market cap, a 99% collapse from the peak.

No regulator or law enforcement agency has named who controls those wallets or the promo account, and there's no statement showing Trump personally promoted this token. It's also a completely separate asset from the official TRUMP memecoin launched last year. A separate Lookonchain report pegged 15 wallets to the "team," some of which had bought in even before the promotional post went live.

Textbook concentrated-supply collapse, whether or not it gets formally labeled a rug pull. Anyone catch this one live?

Real Trump Coins denies launching $GOLD, blames "bad actors" for promo posts

Update on the $GOLD collapse thread from a couple days ago.

Real Trump Coins, the account tied to licensed Trump merchandise, put out a statement denying it ever launched or authorized $GOLD. Their exact line: "Trump Coins has not authorized and will not launch, promote, or authorize any digital token." They're pinning the promo posts on unnamed third-party bad actors and say they're working with authorities. No agency has confirmed any investigation is actually underway.

Here's the part that doesn't add up cleanly. The contract address for $GOLD was posted straight from the @realtrumpcoins1 X account and appeared on RealTrumpCoins.com, a site that account had been sending merch buyers to as recently as Aug 25. After the denial, the account started pointing people to a different domain, TrumpCoins.com, while the old site apparently kept showing the $GOLD promo. Real Trump Coins hasn't explained how "bad actors" got control of both its X account and its website, or when it noticed or regained control.

None of this touches Donald Trump's own verified accounts, which never posted about $GOLD, and it's a separate token entirely from the Official Trump memecoin from last January.

On the trading side, onchain researchers flagged that some wallets bought in before the contract address was even posted publicly. Lookonchain traced 15 wallets that sold roughly $330k worth and profited about $312k. EmberCN found a larger set of connected wallets that dumped 82% of supply for close to $1 million in SOL, crashing the token from a $55m mark cap to $1m in under 30 seconds.

Anyone seeing this kind of account-compromise excuse pattern before with meme coin rugs?
